Privacy Notice for Pick your match
Pick your match is an AI-supported accommodation discovery and referral service provided by GauVendi GmbH.
Based on the search criteria you enter, Pick your match identifies suitable accommodation offers from participating hotels and accommodation providers.
The service itself does not process bookings. If you decide to book a property, you are redirected directly to the booking system of the selected accommodation provider.
This Privacy Notice explains the processing of personal data specifically in connection with your use of Pick your match. In addition, the general Privacy Policy of GauVendi GmbH applies and provides further information about the processing of personal data by GauVendi GmbH.
What this site does — and does not — process
- Pick your match does not process bookings on this website. Optional advertising tracking is described below and remains off unless you agree.
- To provide suitable accommodation recommendations, Pick your match processes the search criteria you enter (such as destination, travel dates, length of stay, number of guests or desired accommodation features). These criteria are processed solely to perform your search and identify suitable accommodation offers. They are not used to create personal user profiles.
- Pick your match uses artificial intelligence (AI) solely to analyse your search criteria and improve the relevance of the accommodation recommendations presented to you. The AI supports the identification of suitable accommodation offers but does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. The final decision whether to book a property is always made by you.
- To understand how the site is used, we count page views and clicks on booking links, including country and referral source where available. We do not store raw IP addresses or browser user-agent strings in these counters. One-way technical hashes derived from the browser and network are retained for up to 30 days to estimate distinct visitors across dates and properties, then deleted. Aggregate counts remain. Referral source is stored in your browser's session storage and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. These measurements do not identify you by name or track completed bookings.
- Optional advertising (Meta Pixel): only after you select “Allow advertising”, we send page views, views of catalog rooms and clicks to a hotel booking site to Meta Platforms Ireland Limited to measure advertising and show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta receives the page URL, technical browser/device information including your IP address, cookie identifiers and the catalog ID of the room where applicable. Meta may associate these events with your Meta account. We do not send booking contact details or completed purchase events from this website. Meta may set advertising cookies such as _fbp and _fbc. - Your advertising choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. You can change or withdraw it at any time using “Privacy choices” in the footer. Withdrawing stops future PYM Meta events and removes accessible first-party Meta cookies from this site; it does not delete data already received by Meta. Your choice on PYM does not grant advertising consent on the hotel’s booking site.
- Your language preference is stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted.
- Maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap only when the map scrolls into view (lazy loading). Your IP address is technically visible to OpenStreetMap when map tiles are loaded.
- Our own scripts and styles are served from this website. If you allow advertising, we also load the Meta Pixel script from Meta.
- Booking takes place exclusively in the respective property's own booking system (GauVendi Intelligent Sales Engine). The processing of personal data required for the booking is described there before you enter the relevant personal data. The respective accommodation provider is responsible for the processing of your personal data in connection with the subsequent booking.
